Speedometer works up to 57mph but won't go any further? 200

I've got a 90 240 wagon 192,000.
My problem is with a sticking speedometer.
It moves well up to about 57 but won't go any further.
Prior to this it would stick periodically around the 60mph range then if I
rapped the dash it would fall or register a different speed.

Is there something on the back of the cluster that this points to or is
it a sensor issue?
Anyone with speedometer experience? Give me your .02

Thanks
