122s Overdrive Avalibility ? 120-130

Hey
I'm looking to buy a 122 and have found conflicting information about the availibility of Overdrive in US models. Some pages say that it was avalible as an option, some say that overdrive was never avalible in the united states.

So, could I find an overdrive car in California? What are the chances that I'll find one? I've been looking for about 2 months and haven't seen any with OD so i'm thinking it may not be avalible.

I'm concerned about OD because I commute 50 miles a day on the highway. Speeds are usually 70-80 mph, but with a vintage volvo i'd try to keep it around 70 mph. Is a 4 speed 122s comfortable to drive at 70 mph, or does it rev so high that cruising that fast is not recomended? Does any one know off hand what rpm the engine turns at in 4th and 5th gears at highway speeds?

Thanks for the help.
