Vibration and growl in '91 940 GLE; what to check? 900

I just had over $2000 put into my car, including a complete replacement of the timing belt assembly (you name it, it got replaced), engine service, transmission and coolant flush and fill, drive belts as well, oil lube and filter, new air filter, all at a specialty shop.

So, now I am getting a growling sound, reminiscent of a Harley's sound but not that pronounced. The pitch is down there, though. I am also getting a vibration if I hit 2000 rpm or over 45 mph and I feel it in the steering wheel, AT tranny shifter, the driver side door panel, and the gas pedal. When I popped the front hood I could see the engine...shimmy...or shudder. When I looked under the vehicle, the exhaust system had the same vibration. Think of juggling dice in your hand or marbles but it a tight, quick motion. The idle is uneven but does not stall; my instinct tells me I would have it be more consistently...quicker.

The exhaust system was replaced this year by a dealer service dept. prior to purchase.

Right after I got my car overhauled in late December it seemed relatively quieter, and acceleration seemed easier, and I don't recall this degree of vibration. I don't think it is wheel alignment because I don't just feel it in the steering wheel nor is it just at highway speeds.

I was told my "boots are cracked" and that they will monitor them. I was guessing that they meant steering rack boots.

I think the noise is louder toward the rear of the car.

I don't know if the exhaust system is shaking the engine or vice versa or ?
