squeak/grind from rear when turning left. 200

Was just driving my 85 245 DL and I noticed a quite loud grinding/squeaking noise emitting from the back. Sounded like the left rear, but I can't say for sure. The noise seemed to completely dissappear when I turned the steering wheel to the right while the car was moving. The strange thing is that the noise quickly went away for the most part, except for a light squeaking while turining left with vehicle moving. I'm thinking wheel bearing or brake pad/caliper is intermittent. Any ideas before I take a look back there?
