Signals, Brake lights, possesed! 700 1990

I drive a 90 744 with 153k. Recently my turn signal lights and brake lights have been acting very strangely. All of the following problems occur when the headlamps or parking lights are on (when I do not have anylights on everything is fine).

IT began as the left turn signal light coming on and not blinking when I put the car in reverse. It then progressed to the left turn signal coming on (just coming on, not blinking) when I would brake and then later both turn signals. They do not come on to full brighness. They come on half way. Now the rear fog light come on when I break. The turn sigal stops clicking when I break and both are on and blinking when not breaking.

Oh it is so hard to describe and so irratating. I hate the thought of other drivers not knowing if I am turning or not seeing me as well or a cop thinking that I did not signal. I read somewhere in the FAQ that when the bulb out relay fails that the brake lights stop working. For a long time the bulb out light has been coming on when I brake or turn but I checked all the lamps periodicly and found that they are all fine. So I just thought that relay had broken

Any Ideas?

-Poritz
