Warped Rotors 200 1987

My '87 240, 210,000 miles, had new front brake pads and rotors a couple of months ago. Now, I've got vibration/pulsation whenever I apply the brakes. The shop that did the work says the vibration is caused by a bad ball joint, but I believe it's the rotors that were either put on wrong or defective. My question: if the rotors are bad, how long can I drive on them before I have to replace them, or, other than the vibration, does driving on warped rotors cause any damage to the brake system?

Thanks for any help.
