Transmission Leak/Low - Where To Check ? 200

Hello. A couple of month ago I got A 1988 240DL automatic transmission. 131,000 miles. Although I've had Volvos on & off for about 10 years this is first automatic transmission i've had so am not too familiar with that. Every 150 or so miles I have to add about 6 to 8 ounzes of transmission fluid to it otherwise it takes about a mile or so to go out of first into 2nd gear. Sometime this week(when it warms up a little) I plan on changing Transmission filter, Flushing out, And putting in new fluid. Although I don't find a leak/fluid on street under car there must be a leak somewhere as I have to add fluid every 150 miles as previously mentioned. So question is while i am underneath car doing tranny filter change where specifically should i check for leak/fluid loss ?? Thanks very much. P.S. - Will check tranny kick down cable when have tranny pan off however it seems fine up top at carb throttle pully end.
