Overdrive pilot light 1800 1967

My '67 works the same way. Light is always on, no matter what gear I am in, unless I hit the switch.

TIP-My OD switch seamed to have gone bad. In reality, it was not making a good ground where it mounts to the column. I ran a ground wire to the jam nut and it works great now. (It propably wasn't making good ground because it is so rusty.....I mean the column, not the switch)

BTW, my over drive "growls" when I back off the accelerator doing 70-80 MPH. It does not make the growl when doing the same speed out of OD. Does anyone know what might causes this?
