Upgraded Alternator Wiring 1800

Ok. so i upgraded my 68 p1800 generator to a sweet 55 amp Bosch Alternator and put in a new voltage regulator....not too bad as the engine block came with a nifty hole for mounting the altenator...another example of genius sweedish enginering!!! but...i am a TOTAL MORON when it comes to wiring and after searching the archives for a simplified answer i am still confused so...im going to put this as simply as i can and if you reply answer like your talking to a 5yr old....
Voltage Regulator:
1. DF
2. D-
3. D+
and i have 6 wires
1. Red thick coupled with a Red Thick
2. Red and yellow coupled with a red and yellow
3. Red and Green single
4. Black single
Bosch 55 amp Alternator with terminals:
1. B+
2. B-
3. D+
4. D-
5. DF
ok.....remember....im 5 yrs old.....now which wires go where???? the reason im so paranoid about the setup is that a local mechanic told me if i hook them up wrong i can fry either the voltage regulator or the alternator.....
Help!!!!
thanks in advance
