Sudden Engine Failure 700 1990

I will check timing belt but I doubt it.
When engine cranks it seems to have proper compression.
Symptom of timing belt is no compression and faster crank.
I will check wire on alternator. I hope thats it, soounds easy.
Curious symptom is battery light on. Loose wire would explain that.
