Diesel Questions 200

Hey all,


Long time 900/800/s70 owner, and i just got my first 245, and it s a DIESEL!!!!! this is, belive it or not, the car i have always wanted, since the time i was old enought to drive... A volvo diesel. Nothing could be finer, IMHO.

Anyway, I have to go pick it up later this week, and will be driving it home. I plan on changing the oil (mobil Delvac 1300 or delvac 1) and i have already gone to the Volvo dealer where i get my wholesale discount and have gotten oil, fuel and air filters for it to change in the hotel parking lot before i drive it home....

Aything else to check??? Caveats? things to look out for.

I am so looking forward to this car....

My wife has already named it: Viking Joe. dont ask me.....

She names all of our cars:

1991 Volvo 940 GLE (Ingemar) 285,000 miles
1983 Toyota Land Cruiser HJ-60 (Toivo) 211,000 mile2
2000 Volkswagen Jetta A4 TDI (Vada) not many miles yet, but 50 MPG
1983 Volvo 245 Diesel (Viking Joe) 160,000 miles

Any thoghts appreciated, and i look forward to getting to know u 200 people as well as i ve gotten to know the 940 people over the last year.
