Rattling sound from rear driver's side wheel. 700

Recently my 87 740 T has been making a strange rattling sound. It seems to most definitely be coming from the rear driver's side wheel. It only happens when I let off the gas, when I put the pedal down it pulls normally and no sound but the second I let off the gas, it rattles. It seemed to happen after the tires were spinning out a lot in a snow storm we had recently. It even caused the car to stall twice. The tires spun the car stalled and wouldn't turn over. I let it sit for a few minutes and it started again, but then I noticed the sound. Then a few hours later the tires spun out of a corner and the car stalled again. Does it sound like the rear end, the tranny, I sure hope not, suspension problem? The cars going in the shop on Friday just wondering what to expect. Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA.
