My recently acquired '90 780 (B230FT)is determined not to have a good relationship with me. The car started, ran, idled, restarted fine, when I first got it. After a few days it would miss somewhat when first started cold, seemed like a damp distributor cap or such - it'd clear up after just a few moments. Now it starts fine cold but as it warms up it loses power, misses, & then dies at every stop light unless I keep it in gear & at about 1/2 throttle or more - if I try keeping it runnung in neutral it'll just sputter, then bounce off the rev limiter before I get my foot off the gas, & stall. Sometimes it just stops running as though the key was switched off. I've replaced the AMM with a rebuilt unit, replaced the crank sensor, checked the radio suppression relay & wiring, resoldered the fuel pump relay, checked the chassis & head/intake grounds, checked temp sensor signal at ECU & ICU (it's within specs), checked the wiring for the load signal from the coil, replaced the coil, and so far no progress. Fuel pressure is steady around 35-42 psi depending on vacuum applied to regulator. Fuel injectors still receiving pulse even as it stalls - but I don't know what duration... I suppose I can test that with a dwell meter. Ign. timing remains steady around 12BTDC as it idles, even as it's bogging down & stalling. The O2 sensor reading is not fluctuating, though- it's starting off around .45v then steadily & slowly dropping the warmer it gets. However removing the sensor & trying the propane torch test gives me .1 - .9 volts as I heat it, responding almost instantly to moving the flame nearer or farther away. Any ideas? ECU perhaps? That's the one component I don't have on hand to swap... Or something else I've overlooked? Please help!
