240GLT Warming up problem 200 1988

My 240GLT AUTO usually starts easily when cold but when between cold & hot it won't idle properly. If it stops whilst warming up (during the 1st 15 mins or so) it is very, very difficult to re-start. This problem seems to be getting worse.

If I keep my foot on the gas ie above 2000rpm theres no problem but in the appaling traffic in Surrey UK this is hopeless especially being auto when slowing down I have to brake with my left foot & try to keep the car running with my right foot being real gentle as she changes down.

Its like all of a sudden something frees up and clears (after 15 minutes) and then when hot she will run all day perfectly.

She has full service history 102,000miles. Fuel injection.

Please help, Adrian
