Do you have check engine codes? Even if the check engine light is not on, ther could be codes stored. Check the FAQ for 700's and you will read how to check the codes and their meaning.
Distibutor problems could be the crank sensor, perhaps called speed sensor. The computer would set a code for this.
If no codes then you must determine whether fuel or ignition related.
Again reading the FAQ will help you narrow the problem.
