bw 35 tranny 140-160

How do you adjust the bw35 transmission so it shifts sooner when going down the road? i will be driving and the thing will be screaming and i'll have to play with the gas pedal a little to get it to finally shift into the next gear. then i have to not put too much pressure on the gas otherwise it will downshift again. after the rpms get up to a certain point, then the tranny won't downshift, but until then, it does it too soon. I want to harness that power for acceleration. it can certainly handle the higher gears, it is something with the tranny. i have 205 studded tires on the back right now. if i change them over to 165s like they sould be, will this fix it? it never did this (as much) until i adjusted the carb(weber)to where it seems to give the engine more consistant power. any suggustions?
