Door Latch/Catch Problem... 200

I have a '92 245 and last night (during a blizzard, of course), the right rear door latch became inop, door wouldn't latch and stay shut. I sprayed it down with WD40 and played with it a bit, but it does not want to engage in the lock position to latch onto and hold the striker bar. Unfortunately, all the Volvo stores are closed for the weekend, but I did manage to get the door to stay closed with bungee chords strapped to the headrests(the next greatest thing to duct tape!).

Questions: Is the latch shot? Are the two star nuts the only thing holding it on or do I need to take the interior door trim panel off to disconnect linkage(s)? Is this latch assembly expensive?
Any input is much appreciated!
