Door Latch/Catch Problem... 200

I has a similar problem in NYC this passed Monday when it was 10 degrees. The only difference wat that it was my left rear door on my '93 245. I was late for work and I didn't have the presence of mind to do the bungee cord trick(great idea, I'll have to remember that the next time it happens). Anyway I dealt with the problem by riding with my arm out the window taking extra care when making a right turn. When I got to work, I was able to park inside and after about 30 minutes the door was able to close. I hope someone on this board will have a solution for us.
Good luck.
