You have helped me now lets see if I can return the favor, In the pics you sent there was a lot of oil on top of your engine and even down in the spark plug holes, where is all that oil coming from. My car had a little like that but it has gone away since using Auto r-x , this stuff works and can clean the engine from the inside out, does a great job check out there web site. Back some time ago I changed out my timing belt and found that the last time it was changed the intake cam was left at 1 1/2 tooth retarded from what it should have been. My power was terrible, after geting that straight the power and mialege were greatly improved, also I changed out the knock sensors and that helped with power and fuel milage as well. Car now has 210,ooo miles on her and hasn't run this good in queit a long time. Have you tried a motor vac on the car, sometimes the valves can become encrusted with carbon and the injectors can not be up to par, the motor vac system will clean out the entire fuel system from the injectors to the cat system. Have you ever replaced the o2 sensors, these can wreck havoc on the mileage on these cars.
I'm not saying that you should do everything I'm pointing out, just areas that cause problems on these cars sometimes that do not render codes that will give the feed back thats needed to rectifiy a problem. Another area that comes up is the thermastat in the air filter housing being stuck causing hot air to come through,
What kind of milage are you getting you should be getting somewhere around 18 to 20 in the city and anywhere from 24 to 28 on highway, this is an average of what I have seen on these vehicles. If I can be of further help, you have my email address
Thanks again
