Tranny fluids and cross members 140-160 1972

Hello all,
Thanks for the input on my previous post about tranny oil. I was out in the driveway today working on the 142. When I climbed under to drain the tranny oil, replace the rubber driveline berring support, and repalce teh tranny mount I found an extra crossmember???? The forward one was holding up my M40 then someone had bolted on a second cross menber in the place where it would go if the car had a M41. I laughed a little then began to wonder if the two door cars were like this for a reason? Maybe more structural support?? But I thought, more support on a volvo? That seems rediculous. We don't call them bricks for nothing. Anyone else found this under their car?

So I drained and filled the tranny with the Redline oil but have yet to take it for a test drive. I will report when I do.

Happy wrenching!!
