Got into a little mess over the weekend with the 960 900

Thanks for the reply!

The oil around the ignition coils and in the holes were due to the oil cap, its rubber seal had never been cleaned. And i've noticed that you have to wipe both the rubber and around the hole clean after filling oil. Then it will keep tight and will not leak. I have blown out all oil with compressed air and had the whole engine compartment cleaned since then. I had my timing belt changed quite recently at a authorized volvo shop. But i'm thinking of having it checked once more, just to be sure. And I'm not in the economical situation to afford buying new knock- and o2-sensors just to "test" if they are the cause.

And I know, its not easy to test them. If its even possible to get accurate results.

I've tried filling her up with higher octain fuel, ran on 95 before. Now it runs on 98. But there is no difference in mpg. I have no tool for converting to mpg right now (at work), but it almost runs at 2liter/10kilometer. And thats far away from what volvo specifies at 17 MPG city and 25 MPG highway. 17MPG is something like 0,925 liter/10km and 25 is something like 1,37 liter/10km.

Thanks for the timing belt tip, that could be it!
Got to return to work now,

/Esa
