This is from recent memory, but... 200 1989

...I believe I use a 17mm x 19mm Sears box-end on the 17mm nut, and rotate the shaft so that wrench is wedged against something solid on the car (whatever works).

Then put a good open-end 15mm on the bolt head, apply some pressure, and smack the end with an old copper hammer (from the days when "knock-off" was a type of hub nut rather than a cheap imitation Rolex).

The impact effect seems to work—even tho' every time I loosen the bolt rather than the nut I'm afraid the Thread Police will catch me. Like someone here probably will.
