Strange 240 brakes lights - nutty behavior

Try first to find the grounds for each light at the rear where it grounds to the body. That was the problem in my 245; the syptoms of a bad ground on these lights will have you scratching your head until your bald, so first check that out. If you clipped the wires at the hinge I am not really sure what your situation is now. The wires there are also known to be a problem, but if ou clipped some then you are going to have to rewire the wires that you clipped and disconnect the wires that you clipped so they don't ground out and blow a fuse.
