euro side marker light question 200

Hello,

I installed a set of euro-style side markers and wired them as running lights as well as flashers. When the lights are turned off, the side flashers blink in tandem with the front and rear flashers. When the lights are turned on, the side flashers blink alternately with the front and rear flashers.

Why is this?

Any way to get them to work as running lights and always blink in tandem with the others?
