Okay to run a non-turbo rear end on a turbo? 700

I am in need of a replacement rear-end for my 87 740 turbo and have a replacement waiting but it is off a non-turbo. My own research shows that the shorter gears of the non-turbo rear end will increase the acceleration of my car somewhat ath the same time decreasing gas mileage. I have also heard that the speedo will be off, by how much I don't know. Someone also brought to my attention that a different model rear end could effect the ABS sensor some how constantly causing problems with the ABS system. Anyone have any info about this or any other unseen problems from running a non-turbo rear end on my turbo? TIA.
