240 Stalls within first three to four minutes; restarts after a few tries 200 1993

1993 240 Wagon....170K.

Peculiar habit of stalling within the first three to four minutes (sometimes less) of operation, whether idling or at throttle. Loses complete power...across the board when it happens, with little or no warning (excepting a loss of foot power on the pedal). Brings on Check Engine light, car dies (not sputtering, but cold shutoff). Upon waiting a minute or so, with a few cranks that are useless, it starts right up. You then can proceed driving for the rest of the trip without a hitch.

After perusing these forums, I found some helpful info and tried a few things. First, it appeared the Air Mass Sensor might be the culprit. REmoved it, cleaned contacts, to no avail. Removed it and replaced it with a used one...hmmmn problem went away for about two weeks! Then returned with a vengance, same symptoms. Turned to the coolant temperature sensor...replaced with a new one; problem went away for two days...then returned with a vengance.
Then turned to the fuel pressure regulator...not a likely suspect because of the electrical nature of the issue (some signal is being "sent" that kills the engine). Replacement there caused no problem, and seemed to settle things again for a day or so...then it returned.

Now the focus is on Throttle Position Sensor...or Cold Start Valve....any ideas? Two non-volvo mechanics looked at the car, and of course, it didnt stall for them. Also, anytime I try to get the error code, it comes back 1-1-1 even though the CE light is on.
