Cold start problem, any ideals???? 200

oldwheels,

I had nearly the same thing happen to me this morning in MA, not quite as
cold -5F though.

I think it is related to air/fuel mixture issues, and when it is so cold, the fuel is not vaporized as well, also dirty injectors may play a role, and any air leaks in the intake side are magnified.

When this happened to me a couple of weeks ago, I ran some Techron through it and that helped significantly. Now I'm seeing this starting problem only at 0F or below, whereas before I was seeing it at 10F.

Check all your intake hoses for leaks or cracks, clean your connectors, and put some cold start gas treatment in for good measure.

I was thankful that the old girl whipped that engine round and round till it
caught on 1 cyl out of 4, then 2 cyl out of four, then 3 out of four, until it
finally was firing on all 4 and then it ran great. Big sigh of relief but a
bit nerve-wracking too!

Please post back with any news of what works for you...

Regards,

TomD
