Hood edge jamming against w/shield wipers when opening 96' 965 900

Hello, everyone.
When I go to open the hood on my 96 960 wagon, the back edge of the hood is pushing back into the wiper and is also extremely difficult to get open. There have been no front end collisions or anything that might have caused it and it seems to have come on rather suddenly. I haven't had a chance to yet, but my first plan af attack is to lube all of the hinge points and see what happens. Has anyone else ever seen or heard of this?
