78 242 B21A - help Identify this 'relay?'...

Hello,

I have a 1981 244DL with B21A, Right-Hand Drive. The only "relay-looking" metal box between the Coolant Overflow and Windshield Washer Tanks on my car is the External Voltage Regulator for the Bosch K1 14Volt 55A Alternator. On some B21A engines in the wrecking yard, I have seen the External Voltage Regulator mounted just behind the Right Head Lamp and just ahead of the Windshield Washer Tank. And, that's the correct part number for the Bosch Voltage Regulator.

The colors of the wires should be Black, White, and Brown.

Any other Relays are typically mounted behind and above the Battery on the Left Fender.

Hope that helps.
