Rattling sound at 3000 rpm 700 1989

Hi everyone

I have a B230E engine with different a layout of the accessory belts. Power steering on top and alternator near oil filter.

I'm getting this rattling sound as if something is loose from the engine whenever I hit 3000 rpm. It doesn't matter if I'm cruising along or in kickdown, it'll come as long as the engine reaches 3000 rpm.

I'm suspecting the belts but how do I go about locating the source of the sound?
I have a ZF tranny so I don't dare rev it up to 3000 rpm in park/neutral lest my tranny goes kaput. There's no squeeling at all and the belts all feel tight. Any advice?

Thanks a lot

Aslan
