Broken exhaust stud 700

Hi All

I have a broken exhaust stud (the lower stud rear cylinder) B230f. The stud is broken off just below the surface of the cylinder head. I have read the FAQ and did a archive search. I read that there it would be possible to build up the stud using a Mig welder. Has anyone used this method? If I use flux cored wire what kind of problems would I encounter with the aluminum block? Has anyone tried grinding out the stud with a dremel with the head on? Any other suggestions other than removing the head and taking to a machine shop?
Thanks
Brad
