New to Volvo's

Thanks in advance for any input or advice.

I'm new to volvo's and would like to find a good car and heard that volvos can last a long time if maintained, but I need advice as to what model/style. I've seen 240's, 940's, 960's and s90's, as well as the newer ones.
My questions are:
1. What models, years, etc. are the best as far as reliability? and maintenance costs?
2. What is the expected longevity of these cars? I would like one that will last for a long time(I dislike buying a car).
3. Any other advice you may give is appreciated.
