do 6-cyl springs on 4 cyl car affect ride quality? 200 1981

My '81 GLE originally came w/ 6 cyl engine, automatic trans. The 1st owner swapped in a straight shift 4 speed and 4 cyl engine, but left the original springs. My next project is improving ride quality. Should I replace the springs w/ the ones meant for a 4 cyl engine?

The tie rods, u-joints, ball joints, steering link bushings and rear springs and tires are all new. Still need to replace strut inserts, upper strut mount and all rear bushings, front sway bar.
