My first free Volvo!!! 200 1987

Wooohoo! I feel like of of the cool guys now.

I was talking to a friend last night and a buddy if his is ditching his son's old car; sending it off to the crusher. 1985 24x, virtually new tires, alternator less than one year old. Has some sort of steering issue that is not worth fixing to the present owner, so it's mine for the taking. I'm going to see the car in the next couple of days and check out its condition and see what parts are worth scavenging. I assume it's pretty rusted out since it's an '85 and in Minnesota, but there's bound to be some good stuff in there.

Will the alternator from the '85 work on my '87? I have no issues at the present, but it'd be nice to have a spare in storage.

Does anyone want anything? I'd be happy to pull some stuff and ship it somwhere. As yet, I don't know if it's sedan or wagon, don't know the color, or transmission or really anything else not mentioned above.

Anyway, I'm excited to get one of those fabled free cars that I hear folks around here talk about from time to time. Cheers.
