760 coil testing 700 1984

I had a customer that powered her coil with an alligator clip and a direct wire to the battery...basically totally bypassing the ignition switch. Her car came in on the hook for a no-start problem, and I was in the middle of diagnosing when she called and said, oh, by the way...

Turns out the reason her car wouldn't start wasn't the ignition switch, she had figured out a way around that. The problem was the fuel pump, and I swear, if she could have ran a vaccum line from the intake into the cabin, she would have driven it with carb cleaner...
