I wouldn't worry overmuch about it...slighly noisy seems to be the norm for the most part on the earlier turbo cars...and if the added stress 2 1/2 years ago hasn't proven to have caused a decreased longevity by now...BUT, you did replace the pre-pump with the high pressure one for turbos...right? Next time you replace your plugs, make a note of the color...if they are slighly white then the fuel pressure is a bit low...that way you can begin to save your nickels for later...
