Two things...er...Three things 700 1990

I am not sure which rigid hose you refer to. The only hose that comes out of the turbo inlet is the hose that goes to the oil trap box under the intake manifold. Does it go over the valve cover and head in between runners 2 and 3 on the intake mani? If so it is the breather hose and while it will make for an oil leak it is not too bad as it has fumes in it and is not exposed to direct engine oil pressure.

The 1/4" NPT fitting should be the one that your actual oil sender is in already. If memory serves me right it should be a 24mm or 15/16" socket to pull the old sender out of the way. If you can find the sender you can find the 1/4 npt hole, right behind the water pump and beside the alternator.

Main bearings? Not just for fun or 'cuz you're there. If you want to know what shape they are in then drop a couple down, visually inspect them for wear patterns and then plastigage the suckers. Anything over about .003" ( I forget what the mm spec is) and you should stuff new ones in it. I make it a matter of course when I have a pan off on a higher mileage car just to go ahead and check it out and 99% of the time they are just fine.
