Corrected post- Engine block exchange. 1987 into a 1990

1990 740 Tubro - Engine exchange

I have a newly rebuilt 1987 (Tubro) block and head that I want to place in a 1990 74 Tubro. Compatibility issues?

From the 1987, I only plan to use: Block and head.

Placed on the 1997 block from the 1990 will be: intake manifold, exhaust manifold and turbo, ECT sensor, Temperature gauge sensor, oil pressure sensor, Ox Sensor, distributor and starter.

What about the flex plate?

How where does the 1990 engine get its ignition timing data?

Background – The 1990 has an oil in the coolant problem. It also may have a slight coolant in the oil problem - the oil quickly turns dark. The 1987 engine was rebuilt and then the car got wrecked after 5,000 miles

Thanks
