getting 1989 744ti.. I need help

Hey everyone.
I am selling my 1989 740GL wagon for around 1750. And I am looking at buying a 1989 744ti with a 1991 engine and mitsubishi turbo. It will need a little work. For instance, needs to have exhaust welds touched up after custom job, has only surface rust on frame, needs grill and light trim(which I have spare of), and the custom exhaust lacks a cat. I live in MA and I dont know if this will pass inspection. It has a muffler.

Do you think I could fix this up myself or just stay with the wagon that has a brand new clutch. The 744ti has a sound system, cold air intake, is a sedan, and is red and I would love that.

If you people could help that would be excellent.

Thanks alot,
Jeremy
