procedure for reading the codes on 740 GL 700

I just used the FAQ instructions to read OBDC codes this weekend.
Only Diagnostic 1 is in Haynes 240 manual, nothing in the Haynes 740/760 manual?

I had a problems with diagnostic 2, see my post on 2/4/2005
