240 power sterring pump shaft seal 200 1989

Bragging first question soon.... Wahoo bought a new black wagon 89, 196k, dealer service stamps up to 180k, 99% rust free (cosmetic only).
Only need to change the wiper motor, the front inner tie rods, and fix the power steering pump.

So the original plan was to strip down the old wagon for parts and just swap out the leaking power steering pump. But I found a shaft seal kit online for the pump.
So since the pump is leaking form the shaft, has anyone replaced a seal on the steering pump?
Would it be easier just to swap the pumps between the cars?
If you've done the shaft seal how hard is it and how do I do it?
