88 240 DL Wagon needs help, should I buy it??? 200 1988

Hi All,

I've always wanted a 240 wagon, finally got the green light from my significant other, so I found an 88' 240 DL Wagon with a 5 speed manual xmission, only 170K miles and in great shape. The bad: Needs a clutch, like, yesterday, and the A/C doesn't blow at all...could be a compressor, who knows right now. Drives great, but they're asking $1,000 which means I'd need to spend another $1500 to get it up to snuff...plus they lost the title, probably won't even be able to BUY it for another 4 weeks.

Any words of sage advice/wisdom? Love the car, hate that I'm going to end up with a $2,500 driveway ornament, who knows what's next with this thing if I'm buying it with problems???

Thanks for responding, I'm having a hard time saying no for sure!!!

Young
