Sway bar question...Are new IPD bars better than the ones in my GT? 200

I would love to put better-than-stock sway bars in my '84 dl. The IPD performance ones, 25mm front and 22mm rear, sound like the perfest setup. So...What size bars does my GT have? Do I put the old GT bars on the '84 and buy 25mm front and rear bars for the gt? Or keep the GT as-is and buy new for the '84? The reason I ask is because I've heard the new IPD bars are way better than stock. It would be great if you all could help me sort out this and sway me toward the right setup (sorry, terrible pun...) Thanks!
