Switching Drivers and Passenger seats on a 1990 240 DL 200

My drivers seat skews to the right (possibly a broken gear?) I don;t have the room (here is brooklyn we work on our cars in the street) for a rebuild and I don;t think the foam is the problem. Can I just switch the drivers and passenger seats? Thanx for any help.
