740 Bonnet Jammed 700 1988

Hi
This is my first post on the Volvo Forum. I've just got a 740GLE 1988. Has a few problems on it , but the first and biggest is the fact I've managed to jam the bonnet on the left hand side. The right side unclips fine and you can just about reach the centre clip, but the left hand side is well and truly wedged. Was reading in the haynes manual i could either knock out the headlight, or try and get at it from the bottom. I've had a quick glance from the bottom and there appears to be no easy way up. Any other ideas!?
