84 bf23 vs. 85 on bf230 200

could someone help me out with the differences between the 84 bf23 motor and the 85' on bf230 motors. I currently have a 84 240 sedan that is in the process of blowing its head gasket and would like to get a wagon. My plan was to keep the sedan as a parts car for the wagon. If I find a wagon that is newer than the sedan what parts would not be interchangeable. I would really like to rebuild the sedan head to put on the wagon. in other words put an 84 head on the 85 or newer.

any advice would be appreciated
