Occasional hot start problem 200 1979

OK, here's a new and strange one (at least to me). Occasionally, when the engine has been shut off for a few minutes and I attempt to restart, it doesn't do ANYTHING - no click from the solenoid, no free spin of the starter, nothing except a slight momentary dimming of the warning lights. If I let it sit for an hour or so it starts right up again. Any ideas? I haven't done an exhaustive circuit check yet - the first time it did this (last Friday night), I push-started it with the help of a slight downslope and it fired right up. Tonight (Sunday) it did it again when I was about to go into a restaurant for dinner. When I came back out (~ 1 hour later) it started right up. Anyone else had this problem? Thanks in advance for any insight you can provide!
