'92 940 GL fuel pump 900 1992

I am trying to isolate a problem with our 940 GL (non turbo).
A couple of weeks ago it started sputtering and had no power at all. It would idle fine but as soon as you would try to give it gas it would sputter out on me.
We started with the fuel pump. I couldn't hear it come on when turning the key so it seemed like the likely culprit. After getting the wrong fuel pump 3 times (3 different pumps) we got the right one last Thursday and put it on. The problem remains however, except now the car wont even start. We've put a pressure guage on there and we're only getting 7PSI from the fuel pump, I believe the PSI should be 42?????

Everything we've looked at says this car has two fuel pumps but we have followed every line on this car and only know of the one in the tank. Has anyone had this problem and how do I go about fixing it?
We really would like to hold on to the car, but after 3 weeks of trial and error and still not finding the problem I'm about to my wits end with it.
