B21A guys, got a question for you. 200

Hello,

Got a problem that has persisted for the past few days, that I so far cannot solve.

It seems fuel or mixture related, but 100% sure.

Everything back to original on the B21A, and all parts are there that should be.

If I start the car, regardless time of day or temperature, usually warm to hot, but make no more than a 5 minute run to a shop, shut the engine off, return to the car within several minutes, the car just will not start, regardless of choke position or throttle position. This has happened a few times, already.

Today, yes I was low on petrol, the fuel gauge needle was just touching the top of the Red Zone, but I made a slow U-turn and the car stalled. It would not restart. I guessed Fuel Starvation. Also, the crown of the road was a bit steeper on that side of the road, where the left side of the car was maybe 1 to 2 inches lower.

I thought this was a 60 Liter Tank. Whenever the fuel gauge needle touches the Red Zone, it takes 48 Liters.

Today, during the restart attempt, I had the choke out and did not touch the accelerator, first attempt. Second attempt, tapped the accelerator, with choke out. Third attempt, foot slowly all the way to the floor, with choke out.

Added 10.63 Liters of petrol, with the gauge showing in the black, not quite 1/4 tank, which suggests the tank was not empty.

Had my wife crank the engine, with the choke all the way out, I was under the bonnet, slowly opening the Throttle until the engine caught. The throttle was all the way open, before it caught, idled a little roughly, momentarily, but picked right up. Once started and at the traffic light, it purred like a kitten.

If I make the first start of the day, drive to town or more than 5 minutes, start after start after start, no problem. In fact, I do not even touch the choke or accelerator, but just give the key a flick.

Why does the 5 minute run, even though the engine temperature is middle or slightly less affect restart?

Any ideas would be appreciated.
