K-Jet pros, need help with cold starts, Control Pressure Regulator? 200 1984

I think you have identified the CPR as the problem correctly. The thermal switch controls the cold start injector. The CPR has an internal heating element and bimetallic actuator that responds to temperature and varies the control pressure to the fuel distributor. There is a three-digit part number on the top of the casting near the vent. A B21F turbo 1981- should be 079. A few people have opened and cleaned the CPR with good results but it is a pain to remove what with the position and high-pressure hoses. Try an archive search. To verify the control pressure as the problem requires the K-jet fuel system test gauge. The best price (~$70) is reported to be JC Whitney.
